Twenty-eight meeting

The 28th meeting of the Stern Family circle took place at the home of Adolph and Jane Stern, Grant Avenue, So. Vineland on the evening of Feb. 25, 1951. Out guests of the evening are Anna and Herman Weizel who are on their way down to Miami. Lucky people. No correction in minutes save that A. missed fried chicken served at Sylvia's the year before and that Jane has been catching hell about it ever since. Lil reported on clock given as twenty-fifth anniversary present to Herman and Sarah. The gift was $51.00 and flowers $4.00 and it was given on correct day. Jane presents gift to Lawrence and Sara. Gift is a set of dishes, service for eight. A. says now we are all invited to their house for dinner on same.

A. tries in vain to introduce visitors as Pop has a dissertation on Poland, Hungary and Germany. A. says also for the minutes that he has received a plaque from the Pope for meritorious service above and beyond the callof duty. Several sisters-in-law suggest that we appoint a committee to check on A. in office.

A. has Pop read tremendous article from the Jewish Forward about himself. Anna tells him not to mind the slight exaggerations about war records as Jennie, Lila an Gloria(
Lila and Gloria were Jennie's younger daughters) have given some tremendous amount of blood in Canada.
