Sixteenth Meeting

The 16th meeting of the Stern Family Circle took place at the home of Mr and Mrs Alfred Stern, Chestnut Avenue, Vineland, N.J. on the evening of April 30, 1949. The meeting was brought to order by the president only after Ruthie went across the street to ascertain whether the neighbor's children were alright. There was a correction in the treasurer's report of $44.15, $5.00 more was added which made it $49.15 and $10.00 was paid for a gift for----- which left a balance of $39.15. As you will notice the !.15 gained from the last meeting's Bingo was added to the Treasury.

Adolph thanked the Sterns for the flowers he received after his accident, also says he expects something special for his thirtieth anniversary. The family, in unison, say they expect something different, say a dinner given by him for them. A. says that next year he and Jane are planning a trip to Israel and will take Mom with them. Mom says she won't go without a car. Monty makes the announcement that the Delsea Driving Range is now open for business and he will teach anyone to putt. A. still wants a party for his anniversary and the family still wants a party given to them. Also suggests Jane be given a medal for bravery above and beyond the call of duty.

No further business and Sylvia still wants lobster dinner. Ruthie wants to know if relatives in Europe are being taken care of. Eddie collects $50.00. Announcement made the lobster dinner to be on May 18th. A. and Jane's anniversary but everyone to pay for their own.

Eddie collects dues again so we will have enough to pay for dinner and Mother's day. Collects $45.00 this time, $95.00 in all. No further business again. Ruth suggests that a plaque be given to Jane for living with A. all these years. A. announces that his lovely daughters, he hopes they are his, bought Jane an electric coffee maker, for all theses years, she still can't make a decent cup of coffee. Gus,having sat with his usual glum expression thru the entire meeting and having not uttered one word, the meeting then adjourned.

Respectfully submitted,

Lynn Stern, Sect
