Eighteenth Meeting

The 18th meeting of the Stern Family Circle took place at the home of Mr & Mrs Adolph Stern, Grant Ave South Vineland, N.J. on Sat. eve Oct 1, 1949. Meeting opened by 2nd VP Gus which is turned over to Herman (balance 31.75). Minutes read and approved. Treasurer's report. Herman ask for new business. Eddie tells that owe for coffee pot and 3 gifts. Helen announces that coffee pot was $20 and is put into use tonite- is open to use for entire family. Herman asks for more new business. Someone seconds the motion that we pay for coffee pot. Treasurer collects dues. Gifts are presented and gratefully accepted. Freddie married 13 years and still doesn't wash the dishes and buys own meat. Goldie doesn't know how to buy meat. Lil says its better be 18 years. Ruth asks for a little respect for the chair.

Ruth wants to know who's hole- Sect. shouts shaddup. Herman still asks for new business, not even monkey business. Syl says she'll take Sect. to Philly anytime she wants to purchase gifts for family. Helen makes motion to have anniversary party every year from now on. Suggestion conversation shifted to **** & ****. M. wants to know if wee want to have a dinner. Ruth want to know if we want to have progressive dinner. Suggested made to invite in-laws and older children. Committee to find out how much cost. ( At this point Chairman has arrived and all arise and kowtow) Herman gratefully turns over the reins. M. says brothers make party themselves and pay for it themselves. Fred makes motion that nephews not be invited. (Monty was Fred's nephew) A. idea is to have whole thing absolutely private. A. wants to know where and many suggestions made.

Gus made chairman of dinner. Questions of steaks or turkey. M. suggests name cards, etc. S. suggests ordering when there. A. disagrees. Helen suggests invitations be sent to Canadians. Liquor-each should apy for own liquor. Music take care of by Monty. Suggestions of Lynn says different committee tahn dinner. Lil, Jane & Freddie on committee.
