Eleventh Meeting

The 11th meeting of the Stern Family Circle took place at the home of Ozzie Stern's 25 N. State St. Vineland, N.J. on Sept. 24, 1948. The minutes were approved as read, save for the fat that they weren't interesting enough. The Pres. was unable to attend so the Jr. Vice Pres was in charge-- when asked to officiate 1st VP said " You rotten bastard". 2nd VP said "2 men in the boat and the oars began to leak". 3rd VP gives a carton of Phillip Morris to be sure he doesn't have to speak. Sylvia wanted a collection as she spent $30 in present. Monty said "whose presents?". Ruth said "my presents". Grandpa wanted to give $5

Anniversary presents were given to Helen, Lil and Goldie. Secretary wanted dirtier remarks. The next meeting to be at Sara's S. wants to eat lobsters again.
Since the family spent so much time in Canada they developed a great taste for lobsters. H. most melodious guest of the evening were Mama's cousins from L.A., Mr and Mrs. Jesse James. Mrs. James yielded to pressure and after telling a joke sang a very charming song. Herman says no more business. Meeting adjourned.
