Eighth Meeting

The eighth meeting of the Stern Family Circle was held at the home of Helen and Monty on the evening of March 14th, 1948. The minutes were approved as read except for the treasurer's report which should have been dues collected $40 = $210.

A package for $11 was sent to Europe.

While everything was quiet Sarah poked Herman in the eye. Paul
( I think this was my brother but I'm not sure) told Sammy (have no idea) to take a lesson from this. The next meeting is to be in April at Jane's home and it has been decided that only dessert and coffee is to be served from now on. Anniversary presentations to Sarah and Herman. Herman hopes it's dice.

Most important business--- who is the most hen-pecked husband. Goldie was electioneering for Adolph and also wants to count votes. Sammy causht Adolph voting twice. Eddie was a witness. Uncle Herman thanks the public for their confidence, asked everyone if they would concede defeat. Adolph very disappointed that even Goldie's electioneering didn't help him win. Voting as follows:

Herman...6 Adolph...6 Albert...2 Gus...2 Alfred...1 Fred...1 Lawrence...1

$45 collected by treasurere Balance of $199 + $45. $244. gifts minus $20 Total $224.

Respectfully submitted Helen Spiegel Acting Sect.
